Toyota Celica engine swap
Some Celica owners pump up their rides by modifying their engines, some totally
replacing them. Performance parts are very available from Toyota itself or from
dealers of after market parts. Many engine blocks are available. Some are iron
cast for added strength and some are made out of iron. This is one of the few
things to consider in making your Celica engine an engine to contend with.
You may also need to get hold of a LHD (left hand driving) wiring Harness. Youll
need a custom exhaust to handle the new engine which might produce more gas, You
will need a clutch which can handle the extra power. 3SGTE plate with a 5SFE disc.
Transmission and motor mounts will also be needed to be replaced to complement
the new engine. You're going to need to get a hold of a Celica 4wd Turbo sensor
pack (If it didn't come with the motor).
Turbo Pressure sensor, AFM, fuel pump resistor packs, more sensors than could
possibly be named. This is where things get sticky, you're going to need to source
a lot of spare parts. While the engine is out of the car, you may also want to
replace the water pump and the timing belt in tune with your new engine modifications.
