1987 Toyota Celica Engine
The 1987 engine of the Toyota Celica was a part of the fourth generation Of Toyota
Celica's. The Celica ST and GT were boosted by a 2.0 liter (1998cc) 4 cylinder
twin cam engine. It had 115 bhp @ 5200 rpm and a torque of 124 lb-ft@ 4400 rpm
and redlines at 6000 rpm. The engine was made out of 4 inline iron block and aluminum
head. Its emissions control is factory installed with a 3 way catalytic converter
feedback fuel-air-ratio control, EGR.

Its valve gear is a belt- and gear-driven double overhead cams, four valves per
cylinder. The GT-s also had an upgrade in its engine. A new 2.0 liter (1998cc)
4 cylinder twin cam engine, the same as the ST and the GT but the GT-s had more
power with 135 bhp @ 6000 rpm, and a torque of 125 lb-ftat @ 4800 rpm. It redlines
at 7300 rpm. The engine makes is standard with all of the 1987 Celica's and so
is the emission controls and valve gears.
